Moving into our home has been one of the most rewarding, unifying, comforting, stressful, overwhelming, lovely experiences. (Literally, all of the above.) Jason and I have loved planning for our home, how we are going to fill it, design it, change it, improve it, and make it ours. It’s been a fun project that I now realize after a few months of being a homeowner—is a lifelong one! There is always something to do! And you know what? I am loving that part of it!
It comes as no surprise I love planning and decorating, but it did come as a surprise that Jason has well outdone me when it has come to making plans, getting organized, and filling our house with things that reflect us and our taste.
When I’ve been tired on the couch, I’ve found him measuring. I’ve woken up more than once to the vacuum, and I think he has sent me more links of things we are considering to get than I have sent to him. NO COMPLAINTS FROM ME! I love having such an excited partner in this new venture together.
With this has come a lot of firsts too. When you first become a homeowner, there is so much to learn—about electronics, pipes, roofs, pools, etc.—again, it really is a project and we’ve had fun diving in together.
One of the many things we’ve never purchased together was rugs. (Add it to the very long list of things!) In most of our purchases, we have been very thoughtful about buying things that will be long lasting and stick with us as our lifestyle evolves (as we maybe acquire different hobbies, have kids, or get a pet) and when it came to rugs, we wanted to make sure we get one that is accommodating for all present and future parts of our lives.
We wanted one that was easy to clean. We are so excited to host and of course one day plan to have kids, so when we found Ruggable rugs, we knew that this was an excellent fit because we wouldn’t have to break the bank and then worry the whole time we own it that it could be ruined in one tiny mistake.
Since our dining room is the place we’ll be hosting the most dinners, holidays, and game nights, we wanted to make sure this rug was the easiest to clean in case the inevitable spill happens and its just something club soda can’t get out.
